Liane appears in the print and digital food sections of the Edmonton Journal, plus she blogs and tweets daily for the newspaper. She covers the city’s food community, publishing stories about YEG food trends, restaurants and recipes. But the stories she likes best are about the people who share her food philosophy – that food is a tool, and can change lives.
Liane is also skilled at leading workshops on food writing, having twice been a presenter at the Okanagan Food and Wine Writer’s Workshop. Here’s what OFWWW creator Jennifer Cockrall-King has to say about Liane’s skill as a workshop leader:
“Liane first came out to the Okanagan Food & Wine Writers’ Workshop in 2010 as a writing instructor. Her skills as a storyteller full of humour and passion, made her presentation Food Can Change Your Life the most highly rated program element for the attendees that year. I was happy to invite her back in 2012 to conduct a roundtable master class on food writing to our group, and, again, this was stand-out seminar. All of the participants noted how Liane was able to connect with them, how much they learned, and how generous she was in sharing her depth and breadth of knowledge.
Liane is a rare writer and presenter who can bring a story to life that both enlightens and entertains us. It is always a pleasure to work with such a talented professional.”
